Das Trafohaus Radio läuft Mittwochs von 22:00 bis 24:00 Uhr jeden 3. und 4. Monat im Freien Radio Kassel.

Kassels akustischer Stadtplan 2.0 ist das Ergebnis einer gemeinsamen Lehrveranstaltung des Fachgebiets Architekturtheorie und Entwerfen der Uni Kassel und der kulturellen Musikwissenschaft der Uni Göttingen aus dem WiSe 23/24.
Auf Basis der Analyse von Wolfram Spyras erstem Akustischen Stadtplans Kassels (1997) und mit seiner Unterstützung erarbeiteten die Studierenden die Aufnahme eines neuen akustischen Stadtplans. Dafür besuchten sie von Ihnen ausgewählte Orte Kassels und machten dort Feldaufnahmen, um sie später zu schneiden und zu analysieren. Viele der Orte orientieren sich an Spyras erstem akustischen Stadtplan, neue sind dazu gekommen und einige nicht mehr existent.
Die Feldaufnahmen sind somit nicht nur Zeugnis des klanglichen Wandels der Stadt Kassel, sondern eröffnen auch klangliche Perspektiven auf besondere Orte der Stadt, die für Architektur wie für kulturelle Musikwissenschaft gleichermaßen von Interesse sind.

Die Ausstellung befindet sich im Außenraum des Trafohauses und kann dort angehört und geschaut werden.

Alberte Skronski (geb. 1995) ist eine dänische Künstlerin. Sie arbeitet hauptsächlich mit Pappmaché, Karton und anderen vorgefundenen Materialien und setzt dabei auf Video, Installation, Performance und Skulptur. Sie studierte Bildende Kunst an dem Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm.
Skronski arbeitet mit einem Konzept, das sie „Radical Happiness“ nennt, und nutzt Humor und Lachen als aktivistische Mittel, um die harte Realität, in der wir leben, zu bekämpfen. Indem sie sich selbst und hoffentlich auch andere zum Lachen bringt, bekämpft sie eine der größten Krankheiten in unserer Gesellschaft: Stress! Indem sie Freude verbreitet und ihre Videostücke kreiert, ihr „Kinderfernsehen für Erwachsene“.

Eine Dualität ist in Skronskis Arbeiten immer präsent. Sie zeichnen sich durch eine fröhliche, selbstgemachte, kindliche Ästhetik aus. Aber sie enthalten auch eine Art unheimliche, erkennbare Verwirrung. Wie auf einem Kindergeburtstag, wo der Clown Spaß machen soll, aber ist er es wirklich? Wir befinden uns in einem Grenzbereich zwischen Fantasie und Realität, zwischen Schönheit und Ekel.

Die Ausstellung „FUN.HAUS“ ist ihre erste Einzelausstellung außerhalb Skandinaviens.

Zusammen mit dem Projekt connecting ecosystems hosten wir zwei Bands für einen Livejam.
Die Band LAIR (Indonesien) spricht über die Inhalte ihres neuen Albums und warum der Boden eine wichtige Rolle spielt.
Zusammen mit der Band STROM (Kassel) gibt es eine Jam-Session für Mikroorganismen.
Lair, bekannt für ihre tiefgründigen Texte und den Einsatz von Ton-Instrumenten aus Jatiwangi—einer Region, die für ihre traditionelle Ziegelindustrie in Indonesien berühmt ist—wird ihren Klang mit Stroms instrumentalen, experimentellen Klanglandschaften verschmelzen. Gemeinsam werden sie Themen wie Boden, Erbe und Fürsorge erkunden, wie in Liedern wie „Tanah Bertuah“ und „Bangkai Belantara“ reflektiert. Diese Verschmelzung von organischen, handgefertigten Klängen mit einfallsreicher Experimentierfreude, live im Radio übertragen, bietet eine zum Nachdenken anregende musikalische Reise.

Robin Vehrs liest die traurigsten Comics aus seiner Doppelzopfine-Saga vor.

Robin Vehrs, Cartoonist, lebt und arbeitet in Kassel. Seine Arbeit konzentriert sich auf die Dekonstruktion gängiger Cartoon-Ästhetiken. So schafft er naive, unprätentiöse Welten, die sich vor allem mit der Traurigkeit des Alltags und schiefgelaufener Wohnlichkeit auseinandersetzen. Er ist Mitglied und Mitbegründer des Institute For Contemporary Cartooning (ICC).

Ab dem 10. Juli wird jeden Mittwoch von 17:00 bis 21:00 ein Mittwochs-Kiosk stattfinden. In unserer Bibliothek haben wir spannende Bücher zum Vorort stöbern und lesen. Der Kiosk wird von Radioshows begleitet (auch übertragen im FRK Mittwoch von 22- 24 Uhr).
Wir freuen uns den Ort zu öffnen und eine Plattform für Austausch zu schaffen.
Am 10. Juli wird um 17:00 ein Talk zu Kioskkultur stattfinden, gefolgt von Musik vom Outlet-Label.

It features the city’s houses and Vorgärten, greens in between those houses, social spaces, eternal states, and flowers at Halit Yozgat memorial and a bush-shaped text on the backside of the book. „Eine Alman Stadt“ makes connections between small city timelessness that reveals an assumed universality and neutrality, the city as a sum of privately owned small islands - sometimes with literal flags on top -, gardens, and far-right ideologies.

The book is published in 2023 by Well Gedacht Publishing and is printed in RISO in multiple colors. The images were shot on film cameras between 2012-2017 during İpek Burçak’s studies in Kassel.<<

In seiner künstlerischen Praxis und (Material‐)Forschung kombiniert Daniel von Bothmer unterschiedliche künstlerische Medien wie Malerei und Bildhauerei, die sich in Ausstellungsräumen zu raumgreifenden Rauminstallationen zusammenfügen. Dadurch entstehen komplexe „Raumbild“‐Kompositionen, die häufig eine soghaft‐visuelle Raumerfahrung und detailreiche Bilderwelt eröffnen. Die einzelnen Komponenten basieren dabei u.a. auf einfachen Papierzeichnungen, digitalen Skizzen und 3D‐generierten Modellen, die während der Ausstellungsvorbereitung unter dem Einsatz unterschiedlicher Materialien und Verfahren, von einfachen kleineren Keramiken bis hin zu großen, aufblasbaren PVC‐Objekten und textilen Skulpturen, in dreidimensionale Objekte überführt werden. Erweitert werden diese narrativ‐abstrakten „Raumszenarien“ durch digitale und/oder analoge Malereien, Sound und einer Vielzahl dem Alltag entlehnter Materialien.

Arts Collaboratory (AC) is a translocal ecosystem consisting of 25 diverse organisations around the world focused on art practices, processes of social change, and working with broader communities beyond the field of art. In this ecosystem knowledge and strengths are brought together and harvested in processes of collective organization. It is a radical experiment in exploring the potentiality of art and social transformation. In Trafohaus Arts Collaboratory installed a Radiostation coordinated by Radio Tropiezo, which is transmitting live sessions of music, talks and conceptual pieces.

**Toof Press and Trafohaus**
toofprints is an exploration of text and image in public space, run by Alice Yard member, Kriston Chen of Toof Press. As part of his contribution to Alice Yard for documenta fifteen, toofprints will be hosted concurrently at Granderson Lab in Belmont, Trinidad and at Trafohaus in Kassel, Germany. Each week new posters will be pasted at both sites.
Since 2016, the project has been an open invitation to artists and designers to submit artwork to be wheat pasted on the walls of Alice Yard in Trinidad. The project was part of a conversation with graphic designer, Erik Brandt, and his Ficciones Typografika (2013-2018) poster project on the side of his garage in Minnesota, USA.
Poster designs get submitted digitally from around the world. Occasionally in collaboration with writers/poets and artists-in-residence at Alice Yard. Posters are printed in black and white, and pasted on the side of the building of Alice Yard. In addition to the neighbourhood, the posters are showcased online and linked to each contributor.

About Alice Yard
Alice Yard is a contemporary art collective, based in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. Since 2006, we have organised and hosted numerous artists’ projects and exhibitions, performances, conversations, and other events, developing an ethos of self-determination, self-sufficiency, generosity, and playfulness, inspired by Trinidad's tradition of communal urban yard spaces and mas camps. We also run a residency programme bringing artists, curators, and others to Port of Spain. Among the postcards of Kassel that we archived for the study of the site using city views from different periods, there is an image of the intersection at Lutherplatz in the 1960s.
Malina Kowalsky reconstructed this view in 2019 in a photographic juxtaposition.

Even nowadays, when we are faced with a highly developed mobility system, it continues to evolve - for example, through charging stations for electric vehicles.

The two billboards, integrated into the former transformer station, are opened up to display visual content for the first time and expand the appearance of the site through monthly changing posters.
The TRAFOHAUS is located in the centre of Kassel along the Lutherpark on a traffic axis that is highly frequented by pedestrians, cyclists, cars and trams.
Different contributions were posted on the billboards on a monthly basis.

The PROFI KIOSK, first shown in 2017 for the documenta 14 by Malina Kowalski and Stella Jondral initiates an investigation of the kiosk as a social space in everyday urban life. With reference to the original use of the transformer house, in 2019 a one-week PROFI KIOSK project phase at TRAFO HAUS for the preparation and documentation of the researched contents.
